6 Ups And 2 Downs From WWE NXT (Jun 18)

Speaking of WWE's inherent WWE-ness, the wrongs of Sasha and Bayley's first Women's Tag-Team Championship run feel like they're being righted every single week. The pair's slow-burn implosion looks like it could be the SummerSlam main-event just as easily as it might not even happen for another year. Either result would still be the best thing on SmackDown by a mile.

The pair's promise to come back to NXT and defend the belts in incredible showcase matches never materialsed in 2019, but nearly 18 months later here they are with a match that comprehensively lived up to the billing. Nox and Blackheart were never considered a serious proposition to knock them off, but both look great for having shared the ring with their main-roster peers.

While the opening exchanged weren't as smooth as were likely planned, the constant momentum-shifting kept things interesting throughout a surprisingly short main-event. With more time you suspect one of these rare pitstops could be a TV classic, but there was enough here not to resent the booking holding things back. A promise fulfilled for the champions, a great showcase for the challengers, and by ending with Io Shirai NXT kept its own brand strong.
