6 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 30)

1. Braun Survives Trash Compactor

Ordinarily, you would think “guy gets tossed in back of trash truck and compacted, returns intact eight days later” would be an insane storyline. But when it involves Braun Strowman, it almost feels believable.

And that’s exactly what happened Monday, when Strowman returned to Raw to confront Miz for his role in trying to eliminate him at the TLC PPV last week. Braun emerged (almost comically) from a different trash truck that had boxed in the Miz’s limo, and then pursued the Intercontinental Champion and the Miztourage back to the arena. There, he decimated the trio, especially poor Curtis Axel, who ate four powerslams, and a fifth through the announce table.

Braun’s loss to Brock Lesnar last month was a momentum stopper, but having him survive epic beatdowns and continue to run amok has helped restore much of that luster.

Still, it bears mentioning that this is an exception, not the rule. WWE hopefully isn’t building Strowman back up only to lose to Roman Reigns on his march toward yet another WrestleMania coronation.
