3. Living Up To His Nickname

WWE loves its nicknames for wrestlers. Practically everyone has one, even if they barely make sense.

One of the more bizarre ones is Dean Ambrose, the Lunatic Fringe. Typically, that means Dean makes strange jokes and comments and acts goofy in the ring. But answering an open challenge from a pissed-off Braun Strowman definitely qualifies as lunacy.

A year removed from being WWE Champion, Ambrose has remained a popular star, but he hasn’t been at the top of the singles card in a while. Still, he looked like the desperate, wily veteran trying to stop a Sherman tank. Dean made Strowman look like a million bucks, but he also gave Braun a run for his money for a bit.

Ambrose is the type of hero who gets beat up and beaten from time to time, but his appeal is in how he keeps coming back. It was actually a good use of a fairly big star to help build Strowman back up.
