3. Giving Divas A Chance
Was that a Divas Championship match that lasted more than two minutes? And it actually consisted of real wrestling moves, ending with outside interference to prevent a title change, just like the men do. After last weeks 30-second Divas debacle, this was a step in the right direction, wrestling-wise. Throw in the in-ring segments with Naomi and Natalya in their mixed-tag match (where the distraction finish on an injured Nattie actually worked) and it wasnt a bad week for the women. But the big story Monday night with women was AJ Lees return to WWE after three months away. AJ saved Paige from a Bellas beatdown. She then declared backstage that she was back to give Divas a chance, using the organic Twitter hashtag that trended for several days after last weeks Raw as a protest against the shoddy match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCh0r8Cc4Pw AJ also noted that the enemy (Paige) of her enemy (Bellas) was her friend, so this looks to be setting up a tag team match between the four, likely for WrestleMania. If so, perhaps Stephanie McMahon will get involved, turning her Twitter back-and-forth with AJ into a real feud. It would only make sense given that Stephanie made another strong woman comment Monday night.
