7 Biggest Opportunities WWE Missed To Turn Roman Reigns Heel

3. After Beating The Undertaker

It's still strange to think that WrestleMania 33 could be The Undertaker's last ever WWE match. It probably won't be, but that's the narrative the company have been pushing on television. That means, in WWE land, Roman Reigns ended the career of a beloved legend, which makes him an uber-heel in the eyes of long time fans.

A heel turn seemed to be coming when Reigns arrogantly dismissed the fans 24 hours later on Raw and defiantly said, "this is my yard now." That alone was enough to get him jeered by hardcore fans who attend those traditionally madcap post-WrestleMania episodes of Raw. Now, even that heelish behaviour has been forgotten.

Why go to all that effort to make Reigns look like a no-good scoundrel only to pivot 180 in the opposite direction as soon as the show was over? Roman reverting to his Shield role as someone who doesn't say a lot and prefers actions over words had potential, but it's almost like that one promo never even happened.
