7 Main Eventers Who Flourished In The Midcard

4. Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler is a wrestler who just never seems to get the break he deserves. A two-time World Heavyweight Champion and former Mr. Money in the Bank, Ziggler has all the credentials to be a main eventer. His first title reign, however, lasted about an hour. His second run was marred too. In his first defence, he was beaten by Alberto Del Rio at Payback 2013 following a nasty concussion that left him taking time off before the PPV event.

Despite failing to reach the lofty heights of World Champ since 2013, Ziggler has won a further four Intercontinental championships in the WWE. His matches in the midcard are always great because the man sells moves like his life depends on it. More so, his most recent feud for the title against The Miz earlier this year and late 2016 was a treat to watch due to Ziggler’s skills inside the ring and The Miz’s skill on the mic. Their Career vs. Title match at No Mercy will stand out as one of the most emotionally charged and exciting matches for the title in the Modern Era.

And with Ziggler currently bashing on other wrestling gimmicks, it may only be a matter of time before he catapults himself back into a title scene.
