7 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (April 21)
5. JINDER MAHAL IS YOUR NEW NUMBER ONE CONTENDER TO THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
On Tuesday's episode of SmackDown, WWE promoted a Six Pack Challenge match between Sami Zayn, Mojo Rawley, Erick Rowan, Luke Harper, Dolph Ziggler and designated jobber Jinder Mahal.
It was won by Jinder Mahal. That match incidentally was held to determine the number one contender to Randy Orton's WWE Heavyweight Championship. Jinder Mahal is therefore the number one contender to the WWE Heavyweight Championship. Jinder Mahal.
The same Jinder Mahal who prior to his switch to SmackDown was last getting trounced on the blue brand by comedy little person El Torito. The same Jinder Mahal who spent the last year of his career getting buried so far underground that it's a miracle he avoided the celebrity death curse of 2016. The same Jinder Mahal who is such a no name enhancement talent that only his lack of actual celebrity spared him from it. The same Jinder Mahal who has proven himself such a clumsy worker - after entering the business in 2003 - that he knocked Finn Bálor daft on RAW last week with a routine strike.
WWE has never been a meritocracy, but Jesus Christ. Designs on overzealously protecting India because Impact Wrestling, of all tarnished brands, is sniffing around should not be a valid reason to position Jinder Mahal in such an illogical spot, interference or no. World Of Sport has a national terrestrial UK TV deal and there still hasn't been a British WWE World champion. So where's the logic in it? If only Pete Dunne was more veins than man.
Get working on your traps, mate, for the love of God.
