7 Reasons Nobody Has Really Missed John Cena

1. It Was Time To Take A Break

Cena has been a near-constant on WWE TV since debuting over 15 years ago. His run has been mighty, but nobody can go forever without taking a few breaks. Being on television close to 52 weeks each year will make even the best performers stale, and John Cena is not an exception to that rule.

After WrestleMania's big proposal to Nikki Bella, it was smart for John to take some time off. As aforementioned, he'd have probably won a 17th WWE Title out of necessity (sagging ratings and a lack of credible headliners, in other words), and that wouldn't have felt special considering his 16th only came at January's Royal Rumble.

Some time away from the WWE spotlight was the best option. Looked at through cynical eyes, Cena's absence now enables him to waltz back in, spike the ratings and point to his star power as the reason. He wouldn't be lying either, although such a spike couldn't have happened without Cena taking his leave for a while.

Cena needed to go away for a few months, not only for himself but also so fans tired of him could take a breather.
