7 Things WWE Must Do To Improve Network Subscription Numbers

5. Portray The Initial Numbers As A Success For This Groundbreaking Digital Service

For decades now, WWE has turned what were perceived to be negatives into positives. Bret Hart is leaving? Let€™s create the Mr. McMahon character. Shawn Michaels injures his back? The Attitude Era takes off. CM Punk walks out before Wrestlemania? Daniel Bryan becomes the Authority feud. With the news of stock prices dropping, and underwhelming numbers, WWE will soon re-emerge with their guns loaded. To expect WWE to wallow in fear in reaction to the initial numbers would be foolish. WWE will portray these numbers as a success, and rightfully so. While other forms of sports entertainment have dabbled in their own network programming, (NBA TV, NFL NETWORK) WWE is far ahead of them all with their on demand digital service, combined with live programming. For the price of only $9.99 it feels like we are stealing from WWE. When something is the first of its kind, people tend to gravitate slowly towards it. WWE has an ever growing fan base, and the network is designed to create the next generation of hardcore wrestling fanatics. Therefore, WWE should continue to portray themselves as innovators, and in turn encourage their fans to become part of technological history. No one is better at self-promotion than Vince McMahon & Co.
