As we've seen over the past couple of months, although annoying at times, the live crowd really makes a show. The atmosphere, the reactions, the chants and the aesthetic of thousands of screaming fans is the life blood of wrestling, and when they were taken away earlier this year wrestling shows initially really started to feel the sting, including WrestleMania which just didn't feel like a big deal.

More than half a year on and crowds are just now slowly starting to be invited back in. During that time promotions have found fun, creative ways to include an audience whether that be via inviting fans to connect their webcams to be a part of the WWE Thunderdome, or the use of employees as seen in NXT and AEW. It's the latter that has made the most out of this dilemma, as although WWE has also used wrestlers in the crowd, in AEW the talent have been allowed to show their personality, where as in WWE they are there simply to be an audience.
