7 Times WWE Could Have Turned Roman Reigns Heel
1. Survivor Series 2015 Vs. Dean Ambrose
Regardless of whether Seth Rollins got hurt or not, the likely plan all along was for him to drop the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at Survivor Series 2015. But the injury gave WWE a golden opportunity to do what they should have done months earlier: turn Roman Reigns heel.
So many fans assumed it would happen that it was almost too predictable, but predictability isn't always a bad thing. It was the right move to make. He pursued the prestigious prize for the entirety of 2015 and always fell short when he did things by the book. Following in Seth Rollins' footsteps by taking a deal with The Authority as well as the title would have been brilliant. He would have done whatever he needed to in order to ensure he was champion at long last.
The tournament for the vacant gold came down to Dean Ambrose and Reigns in the finals as expected, and the match couldn't have been any more lackluster. It wasn't bad by any means, but to say fans expected more from the matchup would be a massive understatement. With neither guy turning on the other, WWE dropped the ball on the perfect chance to run with him as a heel.
Instead, Sheamus cashed in Money in the Bank to become champion, kicking off one of the worst title programs in recent memory.
Keep guessing when Reigns is turning heel because if history has been any indication, it won't be happening in the foreseeable future.
