7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (28 Feb)

1. Alpha Male vs. Alpha Male

After Super ShowDown, this writer went on record to say WWE couldn't book Roman Reigns as a happy-go-lucky babyface against Goldberg. Their feud had to be 'Alpha Male vs. Alpha Male', and it looks like that's the plan. Their confrontation on SmackDown was exactly what it needed to be.

The lack of comedic flourishes to their opening staredown was encouraging. Keeping things short and sweet was smart, and that "I'm next" growl from Roman was all that was needed to get the blood pumping in both men's bodies. Reigns and Goldberg looked like Rocky Balboa and Clubber Lang sizing one another up here.

That's a good thing.

Goldberg vs. Reigns should be intense, because the build is going to be 90% of this feud. Being honest, it's only gonna' last a few minutes in Tampa, so WWE have to get as much bang for their buck in the lead up to 'Mania as they can. This was one very nice piece of business.
