7 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (1 June)

2. Jon Moxley Gives (Daniel Garcia Thrives)

At the time, this writer whined about a main event between Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia on the second episode of Rampage (CM Punk's debut night). It was too short, and it didn't do much to make Garcia look like a star-in-the-making. Now for the good news.

Dynamite did that in June 2022.

Daniel came across as a match for Mox. The veteran gave his younger JAS member everything and, being honest, this kind of one-on-one showcase does more to enhance dudes like Garcia than being involved in 'Anarchy In The Arena' did - let's hope he's a focal point at Blood & Guts too.

Perhaps the match could've done without that scary bump onto the steel steps outside the ring, but Jericho and Regal rescued that by pointing out that violence is escalating before they're all locked inside a cage. Also, both men turned it up a notch during the second half, and that deserves praise.
