7. Multi-Team ‘Mania Match Incoming
Onto the good that Friday's episode had to offer.
The Irresistible Forces vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss was always ending in screwy fashion as soon as Nikki and Brie Bella came out to watch. That’s alright though. The match itself was still a decent watch, and going with Nia Jax and Lash Legend defending against multiple teams in Vegas sounds like the right way to go with their newly won belts.
Perhaps the most important thing is that Lash continues developing. Teaming with Jax has been a real plus for her thus far. She's right up there with others such as Kiana James as rising stars in the women's division on the blue brand. You've got to give WWE some credit there - the promotion has a clear plan in place to promote fresher talent like Legend and James, but they aren't rushing to the end goal erratically.
In terms of that finish, The Bellas had every reason to get involved too. They were hot at Nia for provoking them around ringside, and that irked both Alexa and Charlotte. The babyface duo looked to have the Women's Tag straps all wrapped up until Nikki and Brie hit the ring looking for revenge.
This is an easy to digest, simple story that works well for everyone. Lash and Nia have heat as champs, Alexa and Charlotte can argue their case for another title shot, and The Bellas know their career clocks are ticking if they ever want to taste more success as a tandem. Finally, putting Nikki in tags is smart considering how wonky some of her singles efforts were last year.
