7 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Nov 11)

5. Tay Conti's Improvement

Anna Jay Tay Conti
AEW

Tay Conti has only been in the AEW system for a few months but already looks much improved from her WWE days, entering another solid, composed performance against Red Velvet last night. Though the bout had a couple of slightly awkward moments, it ran through a picture-in-picture segment and justified that runtime, with Tay scoring the victory after switching a Gory Special into a high knee.

Conti's character was played up as she kicked a chair out of the ring. Her partner, Anna Jay, had slid it in, expecting Tay to blast Velvet. This small move shows that while the two are friends, the Brazilian isn't fully committed to the darkside yet.

Conti's improvement (along with that of Penelope Ford and other rising AEW women) inspires hope in the system. Clearly, these women are dedicated, and those lengthy pre-show training sessions with Dustin Rhodes are paying off.
