7 Ups And 0 Downs For WWE NXT TakeOver: Stand And Deliver Night 1 (Apr 7)

6. Nita Strauss And Set Design Deliver The Goods

There's something so simple and yet so damn effective about infusing live music into a wrestling show.

Melting the faces off of those lucky enough to be situated in the CWC on Night 1, Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss strummed out a compelling rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner to open up the main portion of the show.

This also acted as a lead-in to the reveal of the chilling skull situated in the middle of the ramp which would act as the key visual reference point for this particular TakeOver. The last few NXT specials have perhaps overlooked the sheer joy fans can take away from witnessing something a little different when it comes to a PPV set design, with the last real stand-out alteration coming at TakeOver: XXX with the gigantic Xs planted in the arena.

The combination of both of these striking elements set the tone for a night that felt a little special in comparison to your usual Wednesday wrasslin' viewing.
