7 Ups And 0 Downs From WWE NXT Great American Bash (Jul 6)
1. Cole Ties Things Up, Bay, Bay

It may have felt like a bit of a backwards step. The feud may resemble a school play more than a wrestling feud at the best of times. There may be a desperate need to keep these two apart for at least a few months. But, boy howdy, did Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly put on a bloody brilliant wrestling match last night.
In isolation, this contest provided a platform for both men to remind the NXT faithful why they're two of the brightest stars in the entire industry on their day. Cole timed each and every momentum busting punt kick to perfection, even matching O'Reilly on the ground at various stages. Kool Kyle overcame a reluctant crowd to turn his former ally into his own personal slab of beef to pound.
Hell, even the attempts at injecting genuine drama into the feud - that had fell short on so many occasions coming into this rematch - paid off here, with Cole's goading of O'Reilly into losing his Kool by mocking his wife before battering the former UE man's knee being just one of the sweetly executed beats.
This all led to a closing stretch which saw the longest reigning NXT Champion in the brand's history pulverise his old mate with a Panama Sunrise on the concrete and a Last Shot for an intense near-fall. Then, just when it looked like Kyle was set to rise from the ashes once again, a successful block of a second Sunrise left O'Reilly's knee in tatters, opening the door for said second Sunrise and another Last Shot for the win.
With Cole now tying up the feud at one apiece, a rubber match is all but guaranteed, right?
Will O'Reilly seek to prove once and for all that he is the better man and make Cole pay for disrespecting his wife so? Has the O'Reilly top babyface experiment ran its course? Does anyone even want to see these two go back and forth for more weeks on end? Even if it leads to yet another banger, it has to be said that this programme feels a few months past it sell-by date, unfortunately.
