With NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day now firmly in the rear-view mirror, the black and gold brand may never actually be the same again.

Johnny Wrestling was taken to the absolute limit by KUSHIDA in a star-making performance, MSK and Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez further established themselves as the future of the show with their Dusty Cup victories, and Io Shirai once again proved why she's the untouchable top of the NXT Women's pile...OK some things did actually stay the same.

One thing that caught pretty much the entire wrestling landscape by surprise, though, was the unexpected implosion of one of the foundations of the once-developmental brand. In the wake of Finn Balor just about besting Pete Dunne in the NXT Championship main event, an Undisputed save was required to stave off a Kings of NXT ambush. Their positive actions would soon be undone by a couple of stunning Adam Cole swerves, however, with Balor and Kyle O'Reilly both eating a superkick for their troubles.

How would the Undisputed Era respond to such a shocking act? Would Austin Theory stay missing in the wake of a Dexter Lumis abduction? Did Cameron Grimes grace us with yet another stellar music video that deserves to be played on the moon?

All those questions were answered, but even more were presented by the time this week's NXT had reached its conclusion...
