7 Ups And 2 Downs For WWE NXT (Jun 29)
4. LA Knight Has His Eyes On A New Butler
With Ari Sterling making the unwise decision to fire shots at Ted DiBiase seven days ago, Cameron Grimes looked to teach the colourful haired star a lesson this week... and teach one he did.
Sterling put in a decent enough shift, hitting a springboard moonsault to the outside and wicked corkscrew senton onto his space-bound adversary. But the night belonged to Grimes who hit the 205 Live performer with a nasty Cave-In on the back of a shooting star attempt gone wrong for the win.
Before Grimes could celebrate an impressive victory, though, LA Knight soon made his presence known and mocked his rival for being a born loser... despite the fact he'd just won literally seconds earlier. But none of that mattered as Grimes still had his sights set on becoming the Million Dollar Champion and holder of DiBiase's legacy, challenging Knight to a match for the strap next week at The Great American Bash.
It did seem for a second as though NXT were about to pull a fast one here and have Knight walk away with some cheap heat after turning down the offer. Then, in a rather inspired addition, the current douchebag champ stated that Grimes could have his match but if he lost, Knight would take him on as his new butler.
This is a win/win. We either get Grimes strutting to the ring with his Million Dollar title, becoming even more over in the process, or a ton of butler skits involving the two enemies. What's not to like?
