7 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's NXT (April 15)

3. Dexter Lumis

I'm sorry I just really like Dexter Lumis. Or at least I really like Dexter Lumis in this current climate.

His debut against Jake Atlas was a bit messy from an in-ring perspective, this follow up against Tahuti Miles wasn't a million miles better, but if NXT is having to drastically alter their product for empty arena shows then this man's gimmick is an absolute necessity. It just works so well.

With the entire rest of the roster scrambling to fill the audio void with their own trash-talk and gimmicked cries, the decision to have Lumis say absolutely nothing is somehow louder than everything else combined. If he can step it up in the ring then this may end up being one of the most impactful debut runs of the year but, if nothing else, it's already one of the most memorable.

With everything going on at the minute I wouldn't be surprised to see him temporarily drafted on to either Raw or SmackDown in the next few weeks. His squash matches will have just the same sort of impact up there as they do here, and it's not as if the crowd's going to be any different.
