Whenever WWE trots out one of their Hall-of-Famers or legends to pop a crowd, you hope they’re actually going to do something worthwhile during their visit.

Thankfully, WWE not only had “Stone Cold” Steve Austin mediate a contract signing, they had him get fully involved in the opening segment.

Austin started off by telling a couple short stories about his experiences in Madison Square Garden, which was a nice way of making the appearance feel special and to connect with the crowd. He then oversaw the Universal Championship contract signing, with Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins each borrowing a phrase from Stone Cold in their promos.

Then AJ Styles and the OC walked out, with AJ mocking Austin while appropriating one of his phrases. Things broke down, and you can guess how the segment ended: with Styles eating a Stunner for his mouthing off.

Nicely done, with Austin showing why he still is one of the biggest stars in WWF/E history.
