7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 12th)

3. Reality Meets Storyline

So the mess of a storyline involving Dolph Ziggler, Lana, Rusev and Summer Rae looks like it finally has wound down €“ actually, it€™s more accurate to say it was taken out back and put out of its misery. But it was how WWE finally scrapped the abysmal plot that really was mind-boggling. Last week, Summer Rae proposed to Rusev. This apparently came several weeks after Rusev proposed in real life to his real life girlfriend Lana. But WWE decided to proceed with the Summer Rae angle anyway. Then this weekend, TMZ ran a piece on Rusev and Lana, which immediately was incorporated into the storyline. At the very least, this spells an end (hopefully) to this awful angle, and thankfully Summer stood up for herself in the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgoNe5DAJkw But a quick note: It seems like WWE loves to weave in real life personal relationships between wrestlers, but yet absolutely refuses to acknowledge one that plays out weekly on a show they constantly hype. Maybe if TMZ published a bunch of photos of John Cena and Nikki Bella we€™d see them up on the screen as well?
