7 Ways WWE Have Slowly Manipulated Us Into Optimists

1. Vincent Kennedy McMahon

WWE

This is the ultimate ace up the sleeve tricking us into believing WWE are changing. Everything the company has done has been a strategic chess piece on the board to tuck away the king as far back as possible. When Jon Moxley let it all out on the now infamous podcast with Chris Jericho about the many “good s**t” tone deaf pep talks he received from the 73 year old, it showed an in-depth look at the broken creative process within the WWE.

It was finally easy to understand how somebody could be on top of the wrestling world and yet still hate coming to work. It might be easy (albeit unethical and unusual) to ignore the many complaints about the process when it is internal. But now the whole world gets a look and they all hate it too?

So the ultimate response? Pull the wool over our eyes and make it seem like poor old Vince is finally realizing he is losing his touch. That maybe he should listen just a little bit more. Throw some flashy names (that Vince picks, of course) in some fancy new executive director positions, throw a fan favorite in a huge babyface push à la Stone Cold, push our nostalgia buttons, and things will change guys! Look at all they did to prove it. WWE cares!

Just don’t look too closely and pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. You might see that the Wizard of Oz is still really Vincent Kennedy McMahon.
