7 Wrestlers Who Quit WWE Over Angles

5. Neville

The Man That Gravity Forgot gradually became the Man That WWE Forgot, when, having tried to walk out on his contract at the start of 2018, he was forced into exile by his employers.

The Geordie high-flyer's dissatisfaction with the company had been brewing for some time, and his troubled tea turned an even darker shade of sad once his incredible talent had been secreted away on the relative Tuesday night wasteland of 205 Live.

The final bitter spoonful of sugar, to unnecessarily extend this metaphor, came when Neville was asked to drop a Cruiserweight Championship he'd worked so hard to restore the prestige of to Enzo Amore. Despite bearing no personal animosity towards the New Jersey motormouth, the former NXT champion couldn't stomach the idea of a losing programme opposite a man with all the wrestling ability - and, coincidentally, the look - of a carrot.

The angle was such an insult to his integrity that Neville was prepared to sit out, unpaid, for the best part of a year. It took until August 2018 before the two parties finally reached détente, after which the grounded Neville - now reborn under his previous moniker PAC - was allowed to fly once more.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
