Two years ago, WWE teased fans with the possibility of a Cody Rhodes/Kaitlyn relationship and it was something no-one knew they wanted until they saw the chemistry between the two. At the time, Cody was one-half of the Rhodes Scholars with Damien Sandow, and was gaining in popularity with the fans due to his glorious moustache. A face turn seemed inevitable as the crowds got more and more behind Cody, and his burgeoning relationship with Kaitlyn seemed to be the way to go about it. The normally confident and cocky Rhodes would turn into a shy, kinda clumsy goof when around Kaitlyn, who was just as aloof around Cody but was undeniably attracted to his lovestache. For a few weeks, the two would bump into each other and say or do the wrong thing, never quite being able to ask the other out. Add in Cody Rhodes unapproving tag team partner Damien Sandow and the pair had an uphill battle. It seemed like the logical conclusion for this story would be Cody choosing Kaitlyn over Damien, beginning a face run, but unfortunately, the Bella Twins came back. This is important because the Bellas came back to feud with The Funkadactyls, so they hooked up with Rhodes Scholars for a proposed eight-person mixed-tag team match at WrestleMania. The Kaitlyn storyline was quickly wrapped up before it could reach its logical conclusion, but was briefly acknowledged later in the year when AJ catfished Kaitlyn with a secret admirer during their feud for the Divas Championship. Since then, Kaitlyn has left the WWE and Cody Rhodes has committed fully to the Stardust character, so it seems this relationship was just not meant to be.
