7 WWE Suspensions Nobody Saw Coming

3. Titus O'Neil (2016)

Disrespecting the national flag of a country WWE is welcomed into is one thing, putting your hands on the boss is another entirely. The internet still hasn't fully come to terms with exactly why Titus O'Neil was suspended following the February 8, 2016 edition of Monday Night Raw, but he was on the bench for 60 days.

Amidst the emotion of Daniel Bryan's very-real retirement, O'Neil decided to playfully shove Vince McMahon as the head honcho walked back up the entrance ramp. There didn't appear to be much in this at the time, but Titus was promptly suspended the very next day by WWE, apparently to send a message that pushing McMahon on live television was not acceptable.

The punishment seemed unduly harsh, with Batista even encouraging O'Neil to quit the company and walk away. Eating a little dirt, O'Neil refrained from publicly bashing WWE over the incident, instead claiming that he just had to take it. He's since returned to action.

A simple meeting over behaviour would have sufficed, but WWE decided to impose a heavy suspension on their star, something that still doesn't sit well with some fans.
