8 Best Bromances In MMA History
6. Daniel Cormier And Khabib Nurmagomedov
Not only are Khabib Nurmagomedov and Daniel Cormier two of the best wrestlers in the sport of MMA, but they also happen to be best friends. When Nurmagomedov first travelled to the American Kickboxing Academy, he barely spoke English, with Cormier taking it upon himself to help the young fighter learn the language and serving as a mentor and a big brother both on and off the mat.
Though the size disparity between Cormier and Khabib might prevent them from getting many rounds in together, now that Khabib has gotten a decent grasp of the language, the pair regularly go back and forth in verbal sparring. Despite this, DC regularly tells journalists just how much he admires the UFC Lightweight Champion for his toughness and work ethic, like in this interview with Kevin Iole last year:
"Any room he goes into in the entire world, he’s going to be the hardest working guy. I think it’s his faith, his commitment to family, team, self. Just wrestling ability, confidence, his striking is better than people even think. I think he’s just a great martial artist and I believe all of his core values are what propel him to be so special in the way that people are drawn to him. I mean, he’s a star at a level that nobody could have ever imagined."
For anyone that hasn't seen the pair joking around together, it's well worth a watch and pretty hilarious.
