8 Best Masked Wrestling Returns
3. Dean Malenko
The Man of a Thousand Holds was never the flashiest man in the ring, preferring to use his superior technical skills to wow the crowd, rather than high-flying or showy theatrics.
But when Malenko did get flashy, he made damn sure it counted.
Absent from the ring for months during his vicious and personal feud with Chris Jericho, Malenko remained a target for Jericho's barbs, as Jericho insulted Malenko's family and tried to prove himself the better man by listing the 1,004 holds he himself knew.
Malenko finally got his hands on Jericho, though, after a Cruiserweight Battle Royal was held to determine Jericho's next opponent. It came down to Juventud Guerrera and Ciclope when, suddenly, Guerrera eliminated himself, leaving Ciclope as the winner.
Ciclope then unmasked, revealing himself as Dean Malenko in disguise, and the crowd popped huge. It was an awesome dramatic moment for a guy not known for dramatic moments.
