8 Biggest FUMBLES In WWE History
2. Heel John Cena
For literally decades, fans have clamoured for a John Cena heel turn. Wrestling's whitest white meat babyface had done everything there was to do as the WWE's do-gooder in chief, but, as he entered his Farewell Tour with the company, it felt as though the moment had passed. And then it happened.
The biggest heel turn of this generation was executed pretty brilliantly at Elimination Chamber 2025. The face he pulled will be immortalized forever, as he then attacked Cody Rhodes with his father's Rolex, and aligned with The Final Boss, The Rock. Even the first few weeks of his promos, including verbally assaulting a child in Belgium, was entertaining, but then came WrestleMania 41. With no sign of The Rock and Travis Scott's unsatisfactory cameo, Cena's heel turn took a drastic turn for the worst.
The following months were excruciating. Teaming with Logan Paul didn't feel believable at all, his motives dried up fast, and every single appearance was devoid of his usual magic. By the time WWE thankfully put us out of our misery with a babyface turn on the eve of SummerSlam, fans felt relief that the whole thing was over more than joy that their hero was back. Those months of being heel didn't just stall the momentum of Cena's retirement run, it arguably derailed the whole thing.
