6. CM Punk Vs. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens, first and foremost, is a self-proclaimed prize-fighter who uses his cannonball body as a battering ram to secure his family's future. But in reality, those fat paychecks have more than likely been few and far between in recent times. Owens is a hard-hitting guy who requires someone to reinvigorate him and place him on a destructive path towards the WWE Title. Owens doesn't "look" like a champion, at least according to WWE's historical bodybuilder standards. Whether the rumours of WWE's EVP of Television Production
Kevin Dunn's sabotage of Owen's momentum are accurate, it'd be a damn shame to nullify any fanfare that Owens has in WWE this year. Few superstars can boast a main roster debut like Owens, who steamrolled through Cena and his US Open Challenge earlier this year. Owens quickly moved down to the midcard, though. Battling fellow midcarders will not do Owens justice nor will it move him up the rankings. WWE creative don't seem willing to put Owens against a top face again like Cena or even a returning Seth Rollins. But pitting Owens against a returning CM Punk makes sense as a showcase match for both. Punk will need a refresher back in the ring, so why not entertain a set of potentially show-stealing matches? Their styles marry well, and even if Punk goes over, it'd still elevate Owens as a legitimate contender again. Just being in the ring with a CM Punk will up his stock. The two somehow never really faced each other on the indie circuit, something which must be rectified inside a WWE ring.
