8 Devastating Moves Watered Down In WWE

3. Attitude Adjustment

John Cena has beaten everyone there is to beat in WWE with this move. He called it the FU, which itself got watered down by becoming the Attitude Adjustment when WWE became a PG product. The move itself is a diluted version of what is called the Death Valley Driver.

It was innovated by Etsuko Mita, and rather than throwing their opponent up in the air to land somewhat safely on their back it was more a case of ‘drop opponent on neck’. The move was used by a number of wrestlers in the 1990s, including personal favourite Perry Saturn, who performed it with a snap unlike any other.

Cena’s other finisher, the STF, is a somewhat watered down version of that submission move too. Still, one Cena entry is enough for today.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
