4. The Rhodes Family Shares A Stupid (And Sad) Moment
Oh, yeah. This happened. Unfortunately.
In early 2015, months before his death, Dusty Rhodes had one more angle with his sons on TV. This time, he was attempting to reunite the family after Cody’s Stardust persona had driven him mad. However, Stardust rejected Dusty’s help, disowning the name Cody and saying that Dusty was dead to him. Keep in mind: this was less than four months before Dusty passed away... yeah. And of course, because the universe enjoys being cruel, the crowd chanted CM Punk during Cody’s speech.
All in all, it’s just a sad sight to see. And when you consider how much Cody hated the Stardust gimmick, it’s a crying shame this was the last angle on TV he shared with his father. Best to watch Battleground 2013 and think about the good times.
