8 New Directions For WWE After Clash In Paris 2025
AJ Lee's WWE return, Becky Lynch's future and brand new champions aplenty to end 2025?
If Clash In Paris had been an In Your House card, it'd be closer to the highs of IYH Canadian Stampede than the lows of IYH 4. The golden oldies, or those with a love of retro WWF action, will understand that one. In other words, the French PLE was a solid show with several hot as hell moments to help punctuate it. John Cena showed why his babyface reversion was a must, Becky Lynch joined The Vision as a new member (or so it seems), and Roman Reigns was written off TV for the time being.
Where-oh-where do we go from here?
Wrestlepalooza on 20 September is the obvious answer. That's the next PLE on the schedule, and it could well mark the return of a controversial figure, at least in-ring. Brock Lesnar probably won't be the only one making a comeback on that show. "Probably". Nothing is set in stone or guaranteed at time of writing, but there's a lot of talk about AJ Lee working her first WWE bout since 2015 for a reason.
From a booking standpoint, it'd make all the sense in the world. Becky has given Seth Rollins some family-inspired back up, so now CM Punk could make a phone call back home to see if he can get a partner too. Wrestlepalooza, Crown Jewel, Survivor Series or beyond - Triple H can take his pick.
There's the possibility of some title changes and a return to form for tag wrestling on the Raw side too, and fresh title challengers may emerge from the wreckage of Clash In Paris generally. Here's what it looks like Trips and pals have in store for everyone soon!
8. The Vision Taking Tag-Team Gold
Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker looked like absolute monsters are they tore through Roman Reigns in France. Firstly, Reed did his future a favour by looking every bit the viable threat to one of the best in the game, then he and Breakker speared, splashed and generally demolished Roman before the 'OTC' was stretchered out of Paris and taken to a local medical facili...sorry, a hospital.
It'll be a while before Reigns returns to take his revenge on the pair, so they'll need something else to do. The pitch here is that WWE puts the World Tag-Team belts on Bron and Bronson to go along with Seth’s World Title and Becky Lynch’s Women’s IC strap. That'd give the faction a ton of gold, assuming Lynch is going to become a full blown member.
Why not? Raw’s tag division has been messy for too long anyway, so this would give it some clarity and purpose. Judgment Day duo Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh are hardly rotten champs, but there isn't much else for them to achieve on Monday nights. Sticking those titles on wrecking balls like Breakker and Reed seems like a logical move that WWE creative would be into.
WWE Unreal star Michael Hayes would suggest they enlist him as a third wheel and use the old Freebird rule though. Maybe.
There's just something that always looks right about a dominant heel faction sporting plenty of gold, and there's chemistry between Bronson and Bron. Breakker is likely going to be a World Champ calibre worker soon, and Reed has that potential himself, but there's no need to rush through their union for now.
Put the tag belts on 'em, Hunter.
