8 New Records Set At WWE Royal Rumble 2022

2. Most Popular Winning Number – Men

If you’re a longtime fan, you know this statistic: For decades, #27 has been considered the luckiest number to draw in the Royal Rumble, as more winners have come from that spot than any other.

In fact, three of the first eight winners drew that number (and one of those Rumbles only had 20 entrants). By 2001, four men had pulled #27 and won, by far a record that has stood since 1993, when Yokozuna became the second man to win from that position.

However, one number has been steadily chipping away at that lead since 2007, and finally on Saturday, #30 produced its fourth winner, tying #27 for most winners. Brock Lesnar was the wrestler who drew the lucky number and upended nearly 30 years of WWE touting the luckiest number in the Rumble.

While this isn’t a new record and is just a tie, it still is a pretty notable one considering this record has stood alone for 29 years. It’s doubtful we’ll see it broken next year, but you never know what could be coming around the corner.
