8 Pointless WWE Title Changes

3. Charlotte > Sasha Banks

Apart from their Hell in a Cell match, which was a slight disappointment, Charlotte and Sasha Banks were responsible for some of the best WWE wrestling of 2016.

The theme was that Charlotte would win on pay-per-view - to keep up her exceptional victory streak - whilst Sasha would even the score on Raw. It was fine, initially, but after a while it became just a little bit silly.

Sasha picking up the win in November's Falls Count Anywhere match, for instance - after the HIAC bout which, by its end-of-the-line gimmick, really ought to have settled the matter outright - made little sense (and, of course, she went on to lose it back in a subsequent Iron Man match at Roadblock anyway).

Some speculated that it was as much about compelling TV as it was laying the seeds for Charlotte repeating her dad's record breaking title feat somewhere down the road - and that seems to have a whiff of truth about it.
