Sports and athletics have always been in Nia Jax’s blood. Her two brothers both played football throughout their college careers, and her professional wrestling background stretches all the way back to “High Chief” Peter Maivia: The Rock’s Grandfather.

A member of the legendary Anoa’i wrestling family, Nia is the latest in a long long of Samoans to strike big in the wrestling business. The Rock might be her most famous cousin, but she also counts Roman Reigns, Rikishi, and Afa the Wild Samoan among her immediate relatives. Thus, Jax is part of one of the most successful and notable bloodlines in professional wrestling history, and while Reigns and The Usos represent the men’s side on Raw and SmackDown, she’ll fly the flag for the family’s women.

Jax is known to be particularly close with Ata Maivia-Johnson, The Rock’s mother, who has been a huge influence on her career thus far.
