In his 2015 feud with Seth Rollins, WWE fumbled trying to sell Roman Reigns as the next John Cena, which led to some unfortunate experimentation, such as adding the unpopular, hammy qualities of his predecessor.
While Reigns may not have been responsible for the moment completely, as he was likely following copy approved (even written) by Vince McMahon himself, he did deliver one of the worst insults in recent times:
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. Yeah, I’m not sorry. But look at you. You’re just so full of yourself now. Actually, you’re full of something else. You are a snivelling little suck up sellout full of sufferin’ succotash, son! Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, that was not easy to say!”
Quoting a Looney Tunes character was far from the way to convince the crowd Reigns was a serious threat, and wasn’t simply a cheesy reboot of something they’d already seen a million times.
