8 Times WWE Ignored The Second Brand Extension
3. Stephanie McMahon Goes To SmackDown To Aid Her Father (SmackDown Live, 12 Sep. 2017)
Before anyone brings it up, SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon's quick cameo on Raw at the start of the 2 October 2016 episode should not count as an instance of when WWE ignored the rules of the Brand Extension simply because it was a ten bell salute to the victims of the Las Vegas tragedy and was of course not storyline-related.
Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon appearing on SmackDown, on the other hand, was completely uncalled for, especially when you consider she hadn't appeared on programming prior to that point since WrestleMania 33. She was written off Raw as a result of the "injuries" she sustained during her husband Triple H's match against Seth Rollins and (thankfully) has yet to resurface on Raw.
In all honesty, the entire Raw roster would be better off if Stephanie never returned to TV, but then why was she shown coming to Vince McMahon's aid on the 12 September edition of SmackDown following his brutal attack at the hands of Kevin Owens?
It would make sense for Triple H to have shown up in that moment because it was never officially said he was exclusive to Raw, but Stephanie is the commissioner of the flagship show. It was illogical for her to resurface on SmackDown of all places before even appearing on Raw. And in typical WWE fashion, we haven't heard from her since.
