8 Title Reigns WWE Booked In The WORST Way Possible
4. Seth Rollins - Universal Champion (2019)
Seth Rollins had a tough job to stand out from the beginning of his WWE Universal Championship run at WrestleMania 35. Dethroning Brock Lesnar in one of The Beast's customary short matches happened on the same night that KofiMania ran wild at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, and so Rollins began his babyface title run in the shadow of someone else. It personified his upcoming championship reign, in which he never really had a chance to be viewed as the company's top guy.
This had less to do with Seth's unquestionable talent, and owed more to the crazy booking he suffered while holding the Universal Title in 2019. For example, five of his first six weeks as Universal Champion had him involved in tag team matches, and things would only get more bonkers from there.
Rollins was then thrown into a feud with Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans that never felt main event-worthy. Becky Lynch was put into this rivalry for yet more tag-team matches, which then culminated in Brock Lesnar winning back the Universal Title by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase at the end of Rollins & Lynch vs. Corbin & Evans at that year's Extreme Rules PLE.
To this day, this remains the least satisfying run with a World Championship that Seth Rollins has had.
