8 UFC Fighters That Went To War With Dana White

5. Ben Askren (19-2)

Though his MMA career may have ended unceremoniously, the mere fact that Ben Askren ever competed in the UFC Octagon was shocking considering his history with Dana White.

Askren made his transition to cage fighting after a decorated career in amateur wrestling that saw him twice become NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Champion and represent the US in the 2008 Olympics.

Askren would continue his success in the cage, becoming the Bellator welterweight champion in just his seventh professional fight. Askren would go from strength to strength in his time in Bellator, continuing to defend his title and picking up wins over Douglas Lima and Andrey Koreshkov.

Askren's feud with Dana White would begin in 2012 when the then Bellator champion claimed that the White was lying about the UFC being unable to institute random drug testing. Dana was furious and responded the way only he can on Twitter:

After signing with One Championship in 2014, Askren fired back at White's comments on an episode of Inside MMA:

"Dana's a bandwagoner, he always changes his tune... he's a chameleon, he changes his tune depending on whatever fits the situation, and I am definitely not fond of this guy at all. I want a chance to prove I'm the best welterweight in the world but I don't know if I'm willing to stoop to his level."

The pair would eventually make amends, with the UFC trading longtime champion Demetrious Johnson for Askren in 2018.
