8 Ups & 1 Down From WWE's UK Championship Tournament Finals (Night 2)
4. Hero Vs. Villain
The first semi-final brought the WWE UK Tournament's most natural underdog hero together with the show's biggest villain, and it didn't disappoint. Pete Dunne and Mark Andrews have been wrestling each other around Europe for years, and their chemistry is through the roof. They know each other almost as well as they know themselves, and in just under 11 minutes, Dunne and Andrews produced an absolute barnstormer.
This was the UK Tournament's first genuine blow-away match, and it was exactly what the show needed. The first four matches were good, and this was a natural increase in quality from two of the UK's finest. Andrews spent much of the match on the backfoot, but he withstood Dunne's barrage, and came within a hair of winning on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, a neck injury proved to be his downfall: Dunne targeted it throughout, and Andrews eventually relented to The Bruiserweight's prolonged assault.
Neither man held anything back here, and Dunne looked absolutely monstrous. He was already the man to beat heading into tonight's show: this match only reaffirmed that, and Andrews lost absolutely nothing in defeat either. If WWE push forward with their planned UK show, these two will almost certainly be at the heart of the action.
