8 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 19)

7. Miz & Bryan FINALLY Collide... Kind Of

The Miz Daniel Bryan

The third fall is an odd place to begin when breaking a match down, but The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan was the worst part of SmackDown's gauntlet, so here we are.

"Worst" is relative here. The fall was completely effective, and accomplished everything it needed to. The Bludgeon Brothers ran down, beat the tar out of the former General Manager, allowing scumbag Michael Mizanin to charge down the ramp, hit the Skull Crushing Finale, and score an opportunistic pinfall.

This ticked all the boxes. It presented Miz as a smart slimeball, with the beatdown keeping Bryan protected, and the fall's short nature preserving the duo's long-foreshadowed feud. WWE couldn't have booked it any better, but its brevity prevents it from finishing higher.
