8 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 19)

5. Sanity Swarm

Sanity jumped from NXT to SmackDown over two months ago, but WWE held back on debuting them until last night. Reportedly called up for a tag team Money In The Bank ladder match, they, like the Authors Of Pain on Raw, were left in limbo when those plans were canned. This was despite WWE promising their arrival on several episodes of SmackDown, but they finally delivered it in an angle with The Usos.

The two teams were supposed to wrestle, but Sanity had other ideas, initiating a brawl before the bell. Though Jimmy and Jey fought bravely, they stood little chance against three barbarians. Killian Dain, Eric Young, and Alexander Wolfe battered The Usos, finished them off with a double neckbreaker, then closed the segment standing tall, having just dealt with one of the brand's strongest tandems.

While it would've been cool to see them wrestle, this was a strong debut angle, and we'll likely get the tag bout next week instead. Let's hope WWE don't botch the follow-up.
