8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Feb 17)
1. Knee Deep In The Death
Jon Moxley, Lance Archer, and Rey Fenix vs. Eddie Kingston's Family brought that wild, uncontrollable, bellicose energy that recent AEW six-mans have lacked.
This was a riot. Bodies dropped out of the sky and all over ringside and these six men threw themselves into a fight, wrecking the environment around them. Moxley got himself beaten up early on, Fenix exploded to life with one of the adrenaline-popping hot tags he has made look so easy in 2021, and the heels were suitably gritty and nasty. Despite all this, Lance Archer shone brightest. He was the main man as he swung the tide for his side early on and leapt off the apron with a ridiculous cannonball later. Like last week's losing effort, this felt like a conscious attempt at heading him back up after sliding down the card in late 2020 - and it succeeded. The Murderhawk Monster lived up to his reputation.
Mox's Paradigm Shift on Kingston ended the war. Held back by Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, he was accosted by Kenny Omega after the bell, leading to the exploding barbed wire deathmatch announcement. Two V-Triggers left him unconscious after he busted Omega open with a fierce headbutt.
AEW needed a Revolution headliner - and they got it here. Not that the stipulation will be to everyone's taste...
