8 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Dec 8)
2. It's Cody Time
Yes, Cody Deaner wanting to prove himself against Eric Young is a good thing, as Deaner's killer promo last week showed. The Deaners have been overlooked for far too long now, something that needs to change in 2021.
However, why wouldn't he want Cousin Jake's help in combating not only 'The World Class Maniac', but also Young's new pal Joe Doering? The Deaners have felt first-hand what Young and Doering are capable of, so you'd assume Deaner would want all the help he could find when facing the former two-time World Champion.
While Jake did accompany his cousin to ringside for the bout, Cody repeatedly told him not to get involved at various points in the bout, even when Doering was on the edge of interjecting. Safe to say, Cody Deaner lost a match he could have won had he allowed Cousin Jake the chance to get involved. A minor nitpick, as the way in which he delivered the speech to Jake prior to the bout was as fiery as last week, but it must be noted.
