With that "imaginary war" now well and truly in the rear-view mirror (what a relief), the penny appears to finally be dropping when it comes to what the black and gold brand should be doing on Tuesday nights: Making. Damn. Stars. For the most part, at least.

Gone is the stale main event scene occupied by the same familiar faces and a tag team division without any form of meaningful direction, in its place we have a seemingly indomitable NXT Champion - even capable of intimidating in his absence - and a collection of vibrant teams all capable of besting each other on any given night.

Now NXT is still far from perfect, as for every minute spent building Pete Dunne up to be a genuine flag-bearer for the brand, Triple H spends another shoving unwanted love-angles down our throats in infuriating recurring segments. But if we have to take that bad to experience the unquestionable good that is the sight of MSK defying the laws of physics and Bronson Reed pancaking arrogant pr*cks with top rope splashes, bring on more Dexter disasters.

On top of all the in-ring goodness that another unrivalled Tuesday night showing sent our way, Cameron Grimes also came face-to-face with the man who paved the way for his present hilariousness. Wallets at the ready, this could be the start of something lucrative...
