8 Ups And 2 Downs For WWE NXT (Apr 27)

3. Wolfe Refuses To Resort To InSAnitY

In the wake of his recent run-ins with Imperium over the last few weeks, it's clear that Drake Maverick wasn't entirely over the moon about the prospect of teaming with Killian Dain to take on Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel last night. He even brilliantly noted that he was a student of the game and was fully aware of how this scenario usually plays out - with him being jumped or abandoned by his conflicted partner. Finally, someone who watches the damn product!

Yet, when it came down to the match itself, it appeared both men were determined to prove to their partner how much they meant to one another by taking matters into their own hands; not the smartest of tactics, but admirable all the same. Then, when it seemed like Imperium were set to take out The Beast from Belfast at ringside, Alexander Wolfe refused to beat his former teammate with a steel chair, a move which created some very obvious tension within the ranks of the formidable unit.

It may not have stopped them picking up the W on the night, as they nailed Maverick with a Euro-bomb for the victory amidst the chaos outside, but it's obvious that all is not well in WALTER's squad and they may face the wrath of their leader sooner rather than later.

Or is this all merely a swerve designed to throw the likes of Maverick and Tommaso Ciampa off the faction's scent before they officially recruit Dain and 'Toothless' Timmy? Your writer may need a lie down.
