It’s rare that there’s a perfect locale to name someone for the WWE Hall of Fame if it’s not their hometown, but in the case of Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley, there was such a place.

The Dudley Boyz cut their teeth as a dominant tag team in ECW in Philadelphia, so it was appropriate that they were named to the WWE Hall of Fame on Raw Monday night. The Dudleys’ most recent WWE run was less than spectacular – they ended it jobbing as they wound down their time – but it was good to see one last nostalgia run.

During their initial WWE run, Bubba Ray and D-Von helped create a resurgence in the tag division with the Hardy Boyz and Edge & Christian. They also battled the New Age Outlaws, APA, and Kane & The Undertaker, among countless other teams in the early 2000s. They easily deserved this recognition, and it’ll be interesting to hear them reminisce during WrestleMania weekend.

Maybe they can reunite with Spike Dudley for a special Table for 3… although maybe that’s not a good idea for the Dudleys to be near a table.
