8 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 30)

2. League Of Nations

When Sheamus won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series, it wasn€™t just a risky move by putting the title on a middling wrestler, it also raised the possibility that WWE was breaking up a pretty decent mini-faction in Rusev, Sheamus and King Barrett. Last week, it looked like the group was still intact. And this week, we learned that not only is the trio still together, they added a fourth member in United States Champion Alberto Del Rio to become the League of Nations. Say what you will about the fact that none of these four individually are setting the world on fire right now, but having an honest-to-God stable with the world and U.S. champs in it is a great move. For starters, WWE needed to do something to garner interest in Sheamus, and giving him a stable of allies only helps. It also gets away from the champ relying on the Authority to bail him out of problems €“ he has his running buddies to help him. The League of Nations gives Rusev and Barrett purpose now as members, and it also gives Del Rio something better to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=073kRJIqWtU All around, this is probably the best card WWE could play at this point to make things more interesting, protect Sheamus and make more wrestlers relevant at once. Kudos.
