8 Ways WWE Can Book Kurt Angle's Return

4. The 2017 Royal Rumble

As mentioned earlier, Kurt Angle himself has claimed that he wants to take the majority of 2016 off. Aside from a few showcase performances it is unlikely that we'll see all that much of Angle in the ring, so if he does re-sign with World Wrestling Entertainment in the coming months why not save his return until the Royal Rumble in January 2017?

The Rumble has become known for shocking returns and surprise entrances, but with all due to respect to those that have come before it is unlikely that any previous surprise could match the response a potential Angle return would get.

The match is tailor-made for such things. The countdown clock, the anticipation and tension created by a crowd, the explosion of Angle's iconic music and raucous cheers as thousands of thrilled human beings chant 'You Suck' in unison. What a beautiful thing that would be.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
